Physical Appearance: Males approximately 80 cm at the shoulders and weigh about 40kg. Females weigh about 30kg. They are fawn colored with long black hairs on the back and sides, and a red-brown color behind the ears.
Habits and Reproduction:
Geographic Range: Canada: southeastern Ontario and southwestern Quebec.
Biome:
Habitat: large areas of forest either deciduous, coniferous, or mixed.
Diet: deer, moose
IUCN Status: unknown
Threats to Survival: Habitat lost to urban expansion, trapping, hunting, and road traffic. They are timid and easily disturbed by human presence such as logging and recreational activities.
